Thermoformed Parts for Bathtubs
Durable, Aesthetic and Comfortable Bathroom SolutionsBathtubs are an essential part of bathrooms, providing a relaxing, clean and rejuvenating experience. These products are typically manufactured using the vacuum forming method. This process involves heating plastic sheets and drawing them onto a mold using vacuum, creating smooth and aesthetic surfaces.
PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) material, commonly used in bathtub production, is a transparent, lightweight and durable thermoplastic. This material provides both an aesthetically elegant appearance and offers long-lasting usage capability.
Production Technology
The first step in the thermoforming process is designing and manufacturing the mold to be used. The mold is typically made from metal or fiberglass-reinforced plastic and is prepared to fit the dimensions and contours of the bathtub. The heated PMMA sheet is placed on the mold and shaped with the help of vacuum. Once the sheet cools and hardens, it is removed from the mold and excess material is cleaned.
After the manufactured bathtubs pass quality control, necessary finishing processes are applied; surface coating, assembly or decorative accessories can be added. Thanks to the thermoforming method, large-volume production can be achieved at low cost.
