Thermoform Panels for 3D Facades

Durable, Aesthetic and UV-Resistant Architectural Solutions

3D facades are architectural elements used to add visual depth and aesthetic appeal to a building's exterior facade. These panels are typically manufactured using the thermoform method. The thermoform process involves heating plastic sheets and shaping them on molds to create aesthetic and durable surfaces.

UV-resistant ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) material, frequently used in production, is a durable thermoplastic resistant to weather conditions. This makes the panels suitable for outdoor use, providing long-lasting and aesthetic solutions.

Manufacturing Technology

The first step in the thermoform process is the design and manufacturing of the mold to be used. The mold is typically made from metal or fiberglass material and is prepared to match the dimensions and contours of the facade panel. The heated ABS sheet is placed on the mold and shaped by applying pressure. Once the sheet cools and hardens, it is removed from the mold and excess material is trimmed.

After quality control, the manufactured 3D facade panels undergo necessary finishing processes; painting, coating or mounting hardware can be applied. Thanks to the thermoform method, large-volume production can be achieved at low cost.
